What can you ask Holly?
Holly adapts to what you’re working on - a few common starting points.
How can I make sure my kids get access to my bank account?
The most direct way is a beneficiary designation form - most banks let you do this online. Name the person who should receive the funds after you pass. This doesn’t give them any access while you’re alive, only after. I’d also recommend noting the account in the Financial Accounts section of your Holograph so your family knows it exists and knows what to do. Want help adding it now?
What happens to my Facebook account?
Facebook gives you two options you can set up right now: memorialization (your profile stays up with a "Remembering" label, and a Legacy Contact you choose can manage it) or deletion (your account is permanently removed after you pass). You can set your preference in your Facebook settings under "Memorialization Settings." Which would you prefer - and do you have someone in mind as a Legacy Contact?
What’s the difference between a will and a trust?
A will is a document that says what you want to happen to your assets after you die - but it has to go through probate, which is a court process that can take months and cost money. A trust holds your assets during your lifetime and transfers them directly to your beneficiaries without probate. I can help you think through which makes sense for your situation, and flag when it’s time to talk to an attorney.
I have dozens of subscriptions. How do I handle them all?
Start by listing them in the Digital Accounts section of your Holograph - even rough notes help. For each one, leave a simple instruction: cancel it, keep it going for a while, or transfer it. The most important thing is that your family knows the accounts exist. Finding and canceling unknown subscriptions is one of the most time-consuming tasks families face. I can help you think through each one.
